David Gelobter

David Gelobter is the Executive Operating Partner at DAWN Marketing, where he partners with member agencies on growth strategy, capital access, M&A, and long-term value creation — helping independent agencies scale while staying independent. David brings nearly three decades of experience investing in and advising consumer, services, and media businesses.

He is also the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Emerson Capital, an investment firm focused on consumer and services companies as well as special situations. Previously, he was a Managing Director at MCCP Investment Partners, where he led almost $1 billion of investments in business services, TMT, and fintech companies. For a decade before becoming an investor, David was an investment banker at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney, working with leading private equity firms. David started his career at GE's headquarters in corporate marketing and sales roles.

David serves on the board of trustees of New York Public Radio, where he chairs the Investment Committee. He also serves on the Board of the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association, where he has spearheaded Stuy Prep, a tutoring program to help underrepresented students gain access to NYC's specialized high schools.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Williams College.
